Dog-a-day. I tried to rehabilitate his elongation (I mean that in a polite way) but he’s still got dysmorphia.

Scanner darkened the image considerably. I lightened it in PS first, but it’s still darker than it should be.

Some pen sketches, some pencil sketches, a Celtic circle. The sketch of Les is from the Nick Meglin drawing class, as are the pen sketches of my hand.

The Celtic circle was drawn thusly; 1. Use a ruler to draw the center line. 2. mark the line at 2 inches, then at 1/4″ going out. 3. Draw the circles. 4. Use a protractor to mark off 10 second arc intervals. 5. Draw the braids freehand. 6. Erase what you don’t want.

This started as a planes sketch in graphite. Then I added some form using stippling. Then 90 minutes later I was still stippling. Wet Canvas monthly challenge.

The male osprey was drying his wings on a post. The crow thought he’d have an easy time grabbing an egg from the nearby nest.

More pen work. Mostly Prismacolor Premier, with some Copic. Picture taken from the Wet Canvas RIL, originally shown in the June Pen and Ink Challenge. It’s such crap I didn’t post it in the forum there.

It’s from a monument in Washington, DC.

Staedtler 0.5 (black) and Faber Castell Fine (sepia). About two hours, for the Wet Canvas monthly challenge.

Started with a 1″ x 1″ grid with a quick 2H pencil sketch to get the measurements right. Then a long tim using the Staedtler 0.1. Following this wonderful tutorial on Wet Canvas. The thumbnail looks good.

You can see the grid construction lines because I didn’t erase them.

Just for line practice. Both were good until I ruined them at the end by adding details. Glass is a bit wonky.
